Hotel del Coronado Completes Historic $550 Million Transformation
The legendary Hotel del Coronado announced the completion of its Victorian building revitalization, marking the final milestone in Blackstone Real Estate’s comprehensive $550 million transformation that honors the property’s National Historic Landmark status while creating a modern resort experience.

Victorian Charm Meets Contemporary Luxury
The transformation of the Victorian Neighborhood encompasses everything from the iconic front porch and lobby to the main entry and drive experience.
Every Victorian guestroom received updates that balance historical accuracy with modern comfort, while the Victorian garden courtyard has been restored to its original design complete with historic walkways and pergolas.
No two guest rooms are exactly alike, adding to the property’s unique charm. The design reimagines Victorian aesthetics with brighter floral textiles and furnishings that thoughtfully combine caning and wicker with deep wood tones, creating a timeless yet fresh ambiance that feels both luxurious and historically authentic.

Two New Dining Destinations Debut
Veranda
Veranda restaurant draws inspiration from the hotel’s historic wraparound veranda that once offered 1,800 feet of continuous oceanfront walking when the hotel opened in 1888.
The menu celebrates Southern California roots with locally sourced ingredients, featuring everything from grilled California Artichokes to Certified Angus Beef Steaks and Dungeness Crab Wedge.

Nobu Del Coronado
Nobu Del Coronado brings Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature style to the property with 156 seats, including 120 beautifully situated al fresco with Pacific Ocean views. The restaurant features Nobu classics like Black Cod with Miso alongside locally inspired Southern California dishes unique to this location.

Event Spaces Blend History With Modern Technology
The legendary Victorian ballrooms—Crown Room, Coronet Room, and Ocean Ballroom—underwent meticulous restoration that preserves historical elements while integrating state-of-the-art technology.
Highlights include a rediscovered 1888 fresco in the Ocean Ballroom, beautifully refinished original wood floors, and carefully restored historic details.

Garden Courtyard Returns to Original Glory
The central garden courtyard restoration includes the return of the cherished Naiad Queen Fountain, featuring a bronze reproduction of Charles Cordier’s statue that graced the space until 1912. Victorian-era botanicals, including bromeliads, camellias, cycads, and specimen palms, create an authentic period landscape.

Resort-Wide Excellence
Beyond the Victorian building, the comprehensive development transformed the entire resort with new properties like Shore House and Beach Village under LXR Hotels & Resorts, the debut of Ocean Club in historic Windsor Cottage, and upgrades to dining, spa, fitness, and retail experiences throughout the property.
