Taste of Adams Avenue Returns for 24 Years of Neighborhood Food Excellence
One of San Diego’s most beloved food events is back, and it’s bigger than ever. The 24th annual Taste of Adams Avenue transforms a two-mile stretch of some of our favorite neighborhoods into one massive tasting experience, featuring 41 different restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and unique eateries across University Heights, North Park, Normal Heights, and Kensington.

The Ultimate Neighborhood Food Tour
What makes Taste of Adams Avenue special is how it showcases the authentic character of these interconnected neighborhoods.
We’re not talking about a cordoned-off festival area—this event uses the actual streetscape, letting us discover burger joints and sushi restaurants alongside eclectic coffee houses and tried-and-true neighborhood mainstays that have been serving these communities for years.
The event gives us plenty of time to explore without feeling rushed. Whether we prefer to walk the route, bike between locations, or take advantage of the complimentary trolley service, there are multiple ways to experience everything the event offers.
Diverse Dining Options
The participating businesses represent the full spectrum of what makes these neighborhoods so appealing to food lovers.
Mission Brewing brings their craft beer expertise, while Incredible Cheesecake Co. satisfies our dessert cravings. Tajima Ramen North Park offers authentic Japanese flavors, and Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant represents the strong Latino food culture that runs through these areas.
Local favorites like Lestat’s coffee house, Stella Jean’s Ice Cream, and Kensington Cafe anchor the event alongside newer additions like Madi and Maya Moon Collective.
The mix includes everything from White Rice Bodega’s Asian fusion to Pappalecco’s Italian offerings, creating a true international tasting tour within our own city.

Beyond the Food
Part of what makes this event work so well is how it integrates with the existing neighborhood character. While we’re sampling food, we can also explore the distinctive shops that make Adams Avenue such a compelling destination year-round.
Places like Stehly Farms Market and The Rabbit Hole add to the experience, making this as much about neighborhood discovery as it is about food tasting.
Easy Navigation
The complimentary trolley service removes any worry about logistics or parking. We can focus entirely on the tasting experience without having to plan routes or worry about walking distances.
For those who prefer to explore on foot or bike, the two-mile span is totally manageable and lets us really soak in the neighborhood atmosphere.
A True Community Event
Twenty-four years of success speaks to how well this event captures what locals love about these neighborhoods. It’s not trying to be something artificial or overly produced—it’s simply a celebration of the diverse, authentic food scene that already exists along Adams Avenue.
